Ian David Grindall – Digital Photographer

“Legends & Lore” is a digital photographic series creating interpretations of ritualistic themes in legends and folklore, exploring concepts of passion, sensuality, desire and choice vs compulsion. Photographed digitally in the Infrared spectrum with real fire.

Ian David Grindall is a professional photographer and fire artist. His work seeks out the wondrous and surreal in the world we experience and show that perception itself is a skill; one that can be shaped and honed and expanded like any other. He has worked and performed extensively with fire and has developed a passion and affinity for the element that has shaped his photography and tempers many aspects of his life. He performs with fire with Illuminair Entertainment and is a core team member of two large-scale interactive propane flame effect installations, “Super Street Fire” and “The Heart Machine”. The latter will be featured at Toronto’s Nuit Blanche 2011.
